Spyder Yardley-Jones
Artist in Residence 2008/09

Harcourt House Arts Centre is pleased to announce Edmonton’s most colorful artist, Spyder Yardley-Jones, as the 2008-2009 Artist in Residence beginning November 1st, 2008.

Awarded to artists annually through a peer jury selection process, this program is dedicated to providing an emerging artist with a yearlong studio environment at Harcourt House to research and develop new work.

Spyder is well known in Canada and the US, attracting attention through caricatures and illustrations for publications and graphic novels. Through his workshops and classes, he is a teacher with a commitment to ensuring young artists find their unique artistic voice.

As Artist in Residence, Spyder’s style of illustration will develop into artworks rich with great detail and intensity. The public will have the opportunity to experience Spyder’s world, through his exhibition in October of 2009. He is sure to challenge and provide a fun experience for the viewer to interact in an evolving installation full of surprises.
