Pieces of Existence
Paddy Lamb

These paintings are the result of tearing things apart and piecing them back together so that they become more powerful and resonant. The creation of forms and shapes is instinctive. Writing about them seems to stifle the creative intent. The paintings are the only true statement.

Biography
Paddy Lamb grew up in the city of Armagh, Northern Ireland. He studied history and physical education, first as an undergraduate at Trinity College, Dublin, and then as a graduate student at the University of Alberta. For ten years he worked as a municipal archivist in Edmonton. He then returned to the University of Alberta, where he was awarded three scholarships while completing a Certificate of Fine Arts. Paddy now works solely as an artist. He lives outside Edmonton, Alberta, with his wife Laura and daughter Claire.
