Bonnie BigleyMaking art, making things, talking to myself; responding to the world create the space for me to significantly answer the queries of belonging. Sometimes there are answers to be found. In the process of painting and drawing I locate my moment of being here, a gifting that, though I was present, I am often not sure of how. Completion hardly ever shakes my hand and exclaims of a job well done. More questions pose themselves at the edges of the paper. I don’t make reproductions of what I see. I attempt to make visible my totems of curiosity, faith, risk, commitment, fear, awkwardness and love. Much is obscured. When I am brave; joy and beauty and raw truth sometimes emerge. Painting and drawing are observing moments; of work passing in and out of bands of pure energy and time in a three dimensional experience and then traded for a two dimensional surface. It surprises like the horizon always greets one on a long adventurous walk.
