I am a closet archaeologist. The act of digging; of peeling back layers to expose past lives and the material, socio/political and psychological/ emotional detritus of those lives has always enthralled me.

My art practice is synonymous with the studies of both archaeology and history. Utilizing a mixed-media collage approach, my aim has been to record and reveal the places physical or psychological in which I find myself. Through the act of uncovering these places I have sought, ultimately, to discover myself.

Over the past decade my art practice has focused on investigating, from a gay perspective, various socio/political aspects of contemporary society. Through examining physical places outside mainstream recognition, and lives pushed off to the side-lines, I seek to give voice to my own outsider status.
